The only species similar to Foerschi outside of Borneo was collected by different Japanese explorers. Since then, this species has been mainly known and kept in Japan.
The Belitung ones with raw eyes resemble foerschi, which aligns with the fact that uberis also exist on this island. However, other methods indicate that they are much closer to B. mandor.
It is quite unusual to find such a species outside of Borneo. Once again, it is already critically endangered.
